Welcome!
Hi, I’m Madison Smith, a higher education professional based in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
I hold a BS in Psychology from Cameron University and a Master’s in Educational Technology at Oklahoma State University.
My career in higher education began at Cameron University where I worked as a Student Success Coach, in this role I developed a deep appreciation for how well-designed instruction can impact learner outcomes. While in this role, I designed a learning community in Blackboard Ultra for 3,500 learners where I developed learning modules covering topics on Financial Management, Student Success, Community Resources, and Workforce Readiness. This role sparked my interest in learning experience design, accessibility, and user-centered instruction. This ultimately led me to pursuing my Masters in Educational Technology.
For the past two years, I’ve worked at Tulsa Community College, first as an Outreach and Retention Specialist and now as an Engineering Program Manager. In these roles, I collaborate across teams, apply project management skills, manage a federal and non-federal grant budget, analyze data, and design processes that improve student engagement and persistence—skills that directly translate to UX and instructional design work.
My approach is grounded in learning science, empathy, and usability, with a focus on creating clear, inclusive, and effective learning experiences.
